Public Foundation of Hope is a member of the Estonian Tobacco and Alcohol Harm Reduction Board (ETAK) since June 2023.
ETAK, which met in 2009 and is now restarting, is a round table and network of Estonian organizations whose goal is to reduce and prevent harm caused by legal addictive substances. ETAK’s main goal is to influence political parties towards supporting evidence-based political measures.
Most recently, ETAK drew attention to the persistent and currently growing alcohol problem and called on political parties to see their responsibility and role in dealing with this problem. An effective alcohol policy is the best proven way to reduce and prevent alcohol consumption and related harm. Prevention of these damages would save Estonian society a lot of lives, lost productivity and significantly reduce the burden on healthcare, all of which would mean significant national savings. He received his high school diploma in the spring of 2020, after which in 2023 he entered Tallinn University and acquired a degree in Social Work (BA).
