The Nordic Alcohol- and Drug Policy Network (NordAN) 2023 Annual Conference „Substance abuse: policy, prevention and results“ took place in Tallinn.
The conference focused on the policies, successes and setbacks of different countries, focusing on family life in the midst of addictions. One of the main speakers of conferece, Jürgen Rehm (PhD in psyhology and methodology), shared studies which conclude clearly that conservative alcohol policies save lives.
The purpose of holding the annual conference is to learn and exchange experiences so that national policies contribute to the improvement of public health. The NordAN network unites groups and organizations whose goal is to promote conservative alcohol and drug policy in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Since 2020, the Public Foundation of Hope has been part of the NordAN network, which stands for alcohol and drug policy in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Viljam Borissenko, member of the board of Public Foundation of Hope, is also a member of the board of NordAN as a representative of Estonia.
